Simon B. Purnell is a Bilingual Attorney licensed to practice in Texas, New York, Illinois and Missouri with extensive experience as a first chair trial attorney in complex civil and criminal litigation in State and Federal Courts throughout the United States. Founding partner at Griffin Purnell, LLC - 2019 – present, focusing on product liability and federal criminal defense. The firm serves as national trial counsel for corporate defendants in the asbestos litigation, represents individuals in the 3M and Roundup litigation, and serves individuals in a personal injury and criminal context.
Mr. Purnell currently is a litigation partner at Phipps Deacon Purnell, PLLC 2017 - present, focusing on mass torts, product liability and criminal defense. Practice multiple jurisdictions handling complex multi-million-dollar litigation on behalf of individuals, corporation and governmental entities. His is the Attorney/Owner in The Purnell Law Firm – 2010 - present with offices in Corpus Christi, Tx, Litigator focusing on State and Federal criminal defense. Practice in multiple jurisdictions handling complex criminal cases including Federal White-Collar crimes (money laundering, gambling and fraud cases).
Simon B. Purnell was formerly Of Counsel, O’Connell, Tivin, Miller and Burns, LLC, Chicago, Il. 2014-2017 focusing his practice in national trial counsel defending corporations sued in the asbestos litigation. Successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in Federal and State courts throughout the United States. He was Partner at Anthony, Peterson & Purnell, LLP, Corpus Christi, Tx 2007-2010 and participated as a Litigation partner with plaintiff's firm focusing on product liability, general liability, pharmaceutical litigation and commercial disputes at State and Federal level. Supervised staff and managed the practice along with my partners.
He was formerly an Associate/Partner at Brin and Brin, PC, Corpus Christi, Tx, 1999-2007 with a 32 Attorney firm focusing on pharmaceutical litigation, asbestos litigation, medical malpractice, general liability insurance defense and commercial litigation. Achieved equity partnership level within five years.
He also was formerly the Assist. Dist. Attorney, at Harris County DA's Office, Houston, Tx, 1998-1999 Prosecutor at the Harris County DA's Office immediately upon graduating from law school. One of 215 attorneys responsible for every aspect of prosecuting criminal cases in the Harris County court system.
